Moon for May 1

Happy May Day. The first day of May is an old holiday. It celebrates spring. Dancing around the May Pole is a part of this Pagan day.

Early in the morning the moon moves into Pisces. We start to feel a strong bond with the past. We may think of family members. Some who have already passed on. But it is also a day when tradition is key. The moon enters Pisces the sign of the next world. As the end of the horoscope it represents entering a new phase. Our emotions may go through key changes. Pisces is the most spiritual of all the signs.

Also in the morning the sun and Neptune line up. A sextile with the sun in Taurus. Neptune is in Pisces. This is an easy aspect. And the two planets flow together. We seek stable footing. And we find this in deep truth. At the core of being we are one. What could be more stable. What  we are we are, and we will always be, forever. This is a needed truth today. And Neptune in Pisces brings it home. It touches our core. This calms our insecurity if we honestly embrace the truth.

Later in the morning is a second sextile. This one between Venus and the moon. The moon meets up with Venus in Taurus. As the ruling planet of Taurus it is strong. This aspect matches the previous. Our emotions are looking for something deep. And something true, a feeling of who we are in our hearts. Venus will bring a value shift. We may be drawn to safety. Comfort is a value for our hearts today. Today is a day for just being. Our feelings may feel shallow. But they are real. This is not a day for conflict.

The last aspect of the day is a square. Mars will square the moon in the evening. Mars is sitting in the sign of Sagittarius. The thinker doubts our feelings as the day passes. There is a part of us which doesn’t believe we are all the same. Maybe it is the ego. Maybe it is something else. Coming from Sagittarius it puts faith in passion. In an energy self directed and strong. The archer aims for the heavens as an opponent. But heaven is our home. Our feelings may not feel real. This comes from the moon in Pisces. Mars is about self. It stands out in the world. In Sagittarius its ideas are of its own largeness. Not of its connection to all things. This may make give us the feeling of unrest. Self-control becomes more important as the day passes.
